A good statistician remembers at every table that averages can lie, small samples cannot bear large claims, and correlation is not causation.

In the Advisory Board, the Statistics Expert is the board's auditor: on what basis is the growth assumption in the feasibility study, with how many people was the survey result obtained, was the projection presented with an optimistic-pessimistic range? They verify or correct the numerical claims of other experts; they strengthen the numerical basis of the decision.
