"Looking back at all these MVs, I feel like each song represents a different part of these characters' journeys: *How to Eat Life* is about surviving what consumes you, *Fight Song* is about finding someone worth fighting for, *INSOMNIA* is about being trapped within yourself, *Sayonara End Roll* is about finding connection and holding on to precious memories, and *Ghost Avenue* is about trying to fill an emptiness through excess and eventually choosing to live your own life. And then there's *AIYOU*. After everything they've been through, we finally get to see Tobi, Ryuuko, Fuchi and Mahiru not as characters defined by their struggles, but simply as people spending time together, making memories and living ordinary lives. The whole MV feels like looking through Mahiru's collection of memories, which makes the ending hit even harder when they all end up separated again. It's like their lives were only able to intersect for a while, like distant stars crossing paths before returning to their own orbits. It also makes the lyrics about the distance between "I" and "You", and wanting to see a "you" beyond the role you have and a "me" beyond who I am, feel even more meaningful. Maybe this is less about love in the traditional sense and more about the connections people make, even when they can't stay together forever.
